Frederick is a statutory town, with the motto: “Built with What Matters.” The town has a total land area of 14.22 square miles and it specifically located in Weld County, Colorado. Because of its size, there were only 645 people per square mile. Frederick started out as a coal mining town and was officially incorporated in 1907. The small and quaint town was able to draw immigrants from different countries like Italy, Turkey, France, and Greece.
Originally, the town was named McKissick, but later, it was renamed to Town of Frederick. The daughters of the previous land owner decided to name it after their father. Frederick’s neighboring communities are Firestone and Dacono.
Frederick, Firestone, and Dacono are collectively called as the “Tri-Towns” or generally called the “Carbon Valley.” Other geographic neighbors include Erie, Longmont, Fort Lupton, and an unincorporated region called DelCamino, that is a property of Weld County.
Based on its 2017 census data, Frederick was populated by 12,687 people, which was an increase from only having 8,679 residents in 2010. In the year 2012-2016, there were 3,663 households and per household would have 2.95 members. These households reported a median income of $90,321 and 29.6% of them had children under 18 years old.
As for housing units, 91.9% are owner-occupied housing units and the median value of these structures is $261,500. If you decide to rent, the median gross rent would be $1,439. In terms of education, 96.1% of its population that are 25 years old and above have attained a high school diploma while only 37.4% went on to acquire a bachelor’s degree or higher.
For the year 2012, the town of Frederick reported a total of 157,213 manufacturer’s shipments, 235,576 wholesaler sales, and 97,344 retailer sales. There were a total of 843 business firms. 434 of them were men-owned firms, 252 were women-owned businesses, 89 were minority-owned business establishments, and lastly, 68 were veteran-owned business ventures.

You won’t be disappointed because they just don’t have a great beer selection, but there are also food trucks that provide delectable food and good music as well.
